St Peter's Church is a friendly community of Christians meeting in a well kept beautiful old church building with a long tradition, at the heart of Rawdon's community life. We are committed to following Jesus Christ. We pray together. Worship together. Serve Together, Learn Together ... and often we laugh together too
Our regular services are
8.00 am on Sunday Morning - Holy Communion according to Book of Common Prayer - a simple service in which you can our Tradition, and the rich language of the old Prayer Book and King James Bible.
10.00 am on Sunday Morning - Sung Parish Eucharist. This is the time when most of our church come together. We celebrate Holy Communion according to the Church of England's modern service with a sung arrangement led by our talented choir and organist. We sing a mix of traditional and more modern songs. There is provision for younger children to to spend time in our Juniour church. We pray for our community. We read the Bible together and the preaching is simple, accessible and relevant. 7.00 pm on some Sunday Evening (see diary) - we have a chance to experiment and ring the changes. Most often on the third or fourth Sunday of the month. This may be a time for quiet prayer and meditation. Or it could be praise service using contemporary worship songs, a time to prayer for our church and community, or sung evensong.
